SWG's latest decision, SCS.
« Thread started on: Dec 6th, 2002, 6:55pm » |

Here is what I stated to them in my first and second posts about it. Fell free to do the same if you like. And for those who are in awe about the words SCS and MCS, they simply mean Single and Multiple Characters per Server. Here's are my posts: 1. Quote:| Well, since it seems that the only thing that's going to stop you guys from having MCS is poor profits because of customer losses, I guess this question is the next best thing. Could you, in order to lower the price bar of several accounts, put up for sale some sort of "Account Number Only" so that we dont have to buy the whole game CD's again just to get an account? I mean come on, CD's that R written don't cost that much to make a huge difference in your profits (even though $60 for a CD is rather expensive). So how about that alternative, give the families who already own the CDs the option to just buy an account without a CD. I think this is a good reconciliation gift considering the fact you've just screwed everyone who hoped to have only one account with several characters on it. Please....It's the least you guys could do... |
|
2. Quote:| Actually, one more thing. For the people who have more than one account, there should be a rebate on the monthly fee for the second. Because, considering that your game box alone currently costs $60 on the internet, buying the game alone is very expensive for a new game. If non top of this you have to pay two monthly fees, which seems to be, from your descriptions, at least half as much more then $10/month, I'd just like to say that even for the person which is "better off" then most, this is very expensive even if you plan to play for only one month, it would cost at least $90 for just one month twice. And if on top of that, you don't promote the One Game Box for Two Accounts this means you spend $150 on both game boxes and the double account for JUST ONE MONTH. This is very very expensive for a MMORPG even if you're rich, this is very very expensive, I'll say it again. I'm sorry but if don't make at least the One Game Box for at least Two Accounts, then I can easily say that you've lost my money right now. I can't spend $210 for three months if I want a second account. I'm sorry but with the decisions you guys have made, it doesnt seem you're being reasonable. $210 for THREE Months!!! Even E&B is a lot less then that even if it's $13/month. I started getting interested in this game more then a year ago. I would be very disappointed to find out that I can't play it just because it would be waaayyy tooooo expensive! I mean this is outrageous, I'm sorry. Until yesterday this game seemed great. I mean if I miss out on this one because of this, it doesn't really matter, all I've lost is some time. But what about the ones that pre-ordered as soon as it was possible? They're basically screwed if they planned to have more then one character! Anyway, I'd be ungrateful if I didn't at least congratulate you on what you've done so far, it really sounds great. But I'd be very sad to see you guys make a decision so limiting as this, without the least promotion for a second account without a Game Box. Anyway, please try to listen to what I have said and take into deep consideration, otherwise you may find that the world-record 350,000 members you currently have, will greatly drop, at no one but your costs. |
|
As you can see, I was a lot calmer during my first post then in my second.

I'ven't bought the game yet. How much does it cost? If it's too expensive, I think I'll not buy it.

I've voted twice but from the results of the votings, most of them supported the decision of one character per server.

I think that if the more of us vote, and that the current numbers don't change and the difference betw/ the two sides doesn't surpass 15%, that they will revoke SCS and sw/ to MCS, since they can't afford to lose more then 35-40% of their buyers.

Here's my most recent post about SCS, please feel free to post your posts here. 3. Quote:| Another note about SCS. You stated in your original thread that alts were created by players who wanted to try something new, like a new profession. You said that thanks to your skill system this would not be a problem. This is crap, I'm sorry. I know that most people who create an alt also change species! They don't want to be exactly the same species again, they know everything about them! When someone makes an alt they want to be a "newbie" again, they want to have re-discover what they already know about their main character. That's the whole point of an alt, to become a "newbie" again!!! Not just to change professions. |

yeah i know the good points of it as well, the thing is that a lot of PA's will be torn apart including this one, not to mention, how expensive it is for several accounts for family.

The fact is, there are more bad points then good, so the indisputible fact is that SCS sux badly.
